Hollins University President Mary Dana Hinton is part of a coalition of national leaders announcing the formation of the Council on Higher Education as a Strategic Asset (HESA). Over the next year, HESA will develop and propose recommendations for ensuring that higher education institutions can deliver the workforce and educated citizenry necessary to address the United States’ most critical national priorities.

A new higher education reference work that includes a chapter written by Hollins University President Mary Dana Hinton and the Lumina Foundation’s Debra Humphreys has been honored with the University Professional and Continuing Education Association’s Philip E. Frandson Award. The honor recognizes “excellence in achievement for literature written about the theory or practice of professional, continuing, and/or online education.”

President Mary Dana Hinton invited the Hollins community to “believe that the essence of the liberal arts – the freeing of minds – demands the freeing and nurturing of imagination” during her installation as Hollins University’s 13th president on April 22.

Dr. Mary Dana Hinton will be installed as Hollins University’s 13th president on Friday, April 22, at 10 a.m. in Jessie Ball duPont Chapel.
